On 21 October 2025, a hybrid event will be held in Kyiv dedicated to Ukraine’s main achievements in implementing the Paris Agreement, which Ukraine will present at COP30 in Brazil.
We invite representatives from the governments of Ukraine and Germany, international and Ukrainian experts, policymakers, civil society representatives, business, and journalists to participate.
During the event “Ukraine’s Climate Milestones – On the Way to COP30”, the following topics will be presented:
- Priorities and plans of Ukraine for this year’s international climate conference COP30.
- Progress in Ukraine’s climate policy, in particular within the framework of the Second Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC2), the updated Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy until 2050 (LT-LEDS), and the First Biennial Transparency Report (BTR).
- Perspectives, challenges, and opportunities in implementing climate policy, especially in the context of European integration.
Participants will have the opportunity to discuss pathways for implementing climate goals, integration with post-war recovery and EU alignment processes, and the role of government, civil society, the private sector, and international partners in advancing climate action.

COP30 is the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which will be held from 10 to 21 November 2025 in Belém, Brazil. At the conference, countries review the results of their climate actions and assess progress in implementing commitments under the Convention. During the Conference, representatives of the parties to the UNFCCC discuss and adopt decisions on global measures to combat climate change.
The event is organized at the initiative of the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine with the support of the IKI Interface and PAABS projects in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine. The IKI Interface and PAABS projects are implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Government under the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
