Decentralized Renewable Energy Solutions for Social and Public Infrastructure in Ukraine

The Ukraine Ener­gy Sup­port Fund (UESF) is intend­ed to ensure that the Ukrain­ian ener­gy sys­tem func­tions sta­bly and effi­cient­ly dur­ing the Russ­ian aggres­sion. The Inter­na­tion­al Cli­mate Ini­tia­tive (IKI) is con­tribut­ing to the UESF through this project. It con­tributes to the imple­men­ta­tion of decen­tral­ized renew­able ener­gy and pos­si­bly also ener­gy effi­cien­cy solu­tions for social and pub­lic infra­struc­ture, such as hos­pi­tals and schools, to improve the resilience and sus­tain­abil­i­ty of the Ukrain­ian ener­gy sys­tem. The aim is to restore elec­tric­i­ty sup­ply and pro­mote ener­gy inde­pen­dence through the use of renew­able ener­gy and poten­tial­ly also heat­ing solu­tions and by improv­ing ener­gy effi­cien­cy. The IKI con­tri­bu­tion aims to inte­grate cli­mate aspects into the long-term recon­struc­tion of Ukraine and to align with broad­er envi­ron­men­tal goals and Euro­pean ener­gy stan­dards.
