IKI Workshop 2026: Presentation Slides

Project News

On 28–29 April 2026, a two-day work­shop titled “Sup­port­ing Ukraine’s Green Recov­ery and Resilience on the Path­way to EU Acces­sion” took place in Berlin.

The annu­al IKI Inter­face work­shop is organ­ised to facil­i­tate dia­logue between Ukraine and Ger­many, as well as among IKI projects in Ukraine, and to exchange views on cur­rent issues in the fields of cli­mate and bio­di­ver­si­ty. This year’s event brought togeth­er 18 imple­ment­ing and part­ner organ­i­sa­tions, cre­at­ing valu­able oppor­tu­ni­ties for net­work­ing among insti­tu­tions involved in bilat­er­al, region­al, and glob­al IKI projects in Ukraine.

The IKI Ukraine work­shop 2026 was organ­ised by the project “IKI Inter­face: Sup­port­ing Ukraine towards Ambi­tious and Inte­grat­ed Cli­mate Pol­i­cy (Green Ukraine)”. The project is imple­ment­ed by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Inter­na­tionale Zusam­me­nar­beit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Ger­man Fed­er­al Min­istry for the Envi­ron­ment, Nature Con­ser­va­tion, Nuclear Safe­ty and Con­sumer Pro­tec­tion (BMUKN) under the Inter­na­tion­al Cli­mate Ini­tia­tive (IKI), in coop­er­a­tion with the Min­istry of Econ­o­my, Envi­ron­ment and Agri­cul­ture of Ukraine.

IKI Interface: Supporting Ukraine towards Ambitious and Integrated Climate Policy (Green Ukraine)

The project oper­ates at the inter­face of the Ger­man Gov­ern­men­t’s Inter­na­tion­al Cli­mate Ini­tia­tive (IKI). To this end, it par­tic­u­lar­ly pro­motes col­lab­o­ra­tion between Ger­man and Ukrain­ian deci­sion-mak­ers to devel­op inno­v­a­tive, cross-sec­toral solu­tions for a future-proof cli­mate- and bio­di­ver­si­ty pol­i­cy in Ukraine.

On behalf of Fed­er­al Min­istry for the Envi­ron­ment, Nature Con­ser­va­tion, Nuclear Safe­ty and Con­sumer Pro­tec­tion (BMUKN), the project sup­ports the Min­istry of Econ­o­my, Envi­ron­ment and Agri­cul­ture of Ukraine in estab­lish­ing a cut­ting-edge mon­i­tor­ing sys­tem. This sys­tem will enable Ukraine to col­lect, eval­u­ate and mon­i­tor bio­di­ver­si­ty data in align­ment with the cli­mate objec­tives.
