FELICITY II supports the preparation of a wastewater infrastructure project in Kamianka-Buzka

On 27 April 2026, GIZ and the Kami­an­ka-Buz­ka City Coun­cil signed a Mem­o­ran­dum of Coop­er­a­tion under the FELICITY II pro­gramme, mark­ing anoth­er step towards the imple­men­ta­tion of a strate­gic invest­ment project in Ukraine’s water sec­tor.

The coop­er­a­tion will focus on prepar­ing the project “Con­struc­tion of New Waste­water Treat­ment Facil­i­ties in Kami­an­ka-Buz­ka” for imple­men­ta­tion. The project has been includ­ed in the main project pipeline of the Ukraine Water and Waste­water Recov­ery Pro­gramme, estab­lished between Ukraine and the Euro­pean Invest­ment Bank.

Through FELICITY II, the munic­i­pal­i­ty will receive tech­ni­cal assis­tance to update project design and cost-esti­mate doc­u­men­ta­tion, advance project prepa­ra­tion activ­i­ties, and strength­en insti­tu­tion­al capac­i­ties required for coop­er­a­tion with inter­na­tion­al finan­cial insti­tu­tions and future project imple­men­ta­tion.

By sup­port­ing project prepa­ra­tion and insti­tu­tion­al readi­ness, FELICITY II con­tributes to cre­at­ing the con­di­tions nec­es­sary for sus­tain­able invest­ment in water infra­struc­ture. Mod­ern water and waste­water treat­ment facil­i­ties are essen­tial for envi­ron­men­tal pro­tec­tion, enhanc­ing ser­vice qual­i­ty for res­i­dents, and increas­ing the resilience of local com­mu­ni­ties.

FELICITY II is an inter­na­tion­al ini­tia­tive sup­port­ing sus­tain­able urban infra­struc­ture devel­op­ment in East­ern Euro­pean and Cen­tral Asia coun­tries, aim­ing to reduce green­house gas emis­sions. The pro­gramme pro­vides tech­ni­cal and ana­lyt­i­cal assis­tance to munic­i­pal­i­ties to help them design and imple­ment cli­mate-friend­ly invest­ments in water sup­ply, waste­water man­age­ment, and ener­gy-effi­cient build­ings. 

FELICITY II is imple­ment­ed by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Inter­na­tionale Zusam­me­nar­beit (GIZ) GmbH in coop­er­a­tion with the Euro­pean Invest­ment Bank and with the sup­port of the Ger­man Fed­er­al Gov­ern­ment, under the frame­work of the Inter­na­tion­al Cli­mate Ini­tia­tive (IKI).
