Recently, the teams of the projects “Support of the national Energy Efficiency Fund and of a climate-friendly reform agenda (S2I)” and “Energy-efficient district Lviv”, implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, visited apartment buildings in two Ukrainian cities.
In Zhytomyr, the GIZ team, together with partners from the Zhytomyr City Council, the Energy Efficiency Fund, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), examined the measures implemented under the Energy Efficiency Fund’s “Energy Modernisation for Homes” (Energodim) programme.
Typical measures include insulation or replacement of heating and hot water pipes, hydraulic balancing of the heating system, insulation of external walls, roofs, and attics, replacement of windows and doors in common areas, installation of heat meters and thermostats, insulation of balconies.
In total, in Zhytomyr:
— 12 condominiums (OSBBs) have fully completed modernisation under the Energodim programme;
— 8 condominiums are currently undergoing construction work.
In Lviv, the GIZ project teams, together with representatives of the Sykhiv District Administration, visited buildings with homeowners associations that have either completed thermal modernisation or are currently implementing the measures.
As a reminder, under the “Energy-efficient district Lviv” project, GIZ provides technical support to condominiums in Lviv’s Sykhiv district participating in the Enerhodim programme. As of today:
— 19 condominiums received support in developing design and cost-estimate documentation;
— 10 condominiums received support in author or technical supervision;
— 8 condominiums that took part in the project have fully completed the works, and 2 are still under implementation.
During the visits, meetings were also held with the heads of the condominiums, who shared their experiences, success stories, and challenges encountered during implementation. Each such project is not only a step toward Ukraine’s energy-efficient future but also a contribution to its European integration.
The projects “Support of the national Energy Efficiency Fund and of a climate-friendly reform agenda (S2I)” and “Energy-efficient district Lviv” are implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN).
