Bicycle rental launched in Zacharovanyi Krai National Nature Park

Project News

With the support of the Frankfurt Zoological Society, a new bicycle rental service has been launched at the Zacharovanyi Krai National Nature Park in order to promote ecotourism and sustainable access.

This initiative enables visitors to explore the park’s distinctive landscapes in an eco-friendly manner and involves the local community in nature-based tourism. The FZS provided technical and financial assistance to help the park set up the service, including buying bicycles and supporting infrastructure.

By offering an alternative to motorized transport, the bicycle rental encourages visitors to reduce their carbon footprint while enjoying the natural beauty of the Carpathians. It also creates new opportunities for local employment and small businesses linked to sustainable tourism.

This forms part of the FZS’s wider efforts to enhance the management of protected areas and encourage low-impact tourism in the Ukrainian Carpathians. By improving visitor services, the project contributes to conservation and local development goals.
