This autumn, the Frankfurt Zoological Society began construction of a new eco-educational space in the remote area of the National Nature Park “Cheremoskyi”. The site will host five-day camps for children, providing opportunities to explore nature, learn about biodiversity and enjoy outdoor activities.
While the project primarily targets schoolchildren from the Chernivtsi region, it is also open to children from other regions. The camp is located on the banks of the Perkalaba River. Visitors can cross a small bridge to enter the Verkhovynskyi National Nature Park, which extends access to children from the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The Frankfurt Zoological Society is fully managing the construction: all earthworks have been completed, the sewage system has been installed, and the wooden tent structures are being assembled. By the end of the year, a kitchen and sanitary facilities with showers and restrooms will be ready.
This project is being implemented with the support of the International Climate Initiative (IKI). Its vision is for this space to bring communities and national parks together for the benefit of children, allowing them to immerse themselves in the surrounding forests, improve their health and enjoy positive experiences in nature.
